Appointed by Twyg for the second year running, Scout PR & Social Media is spearheading media outreach, managing event publicity, and enhancing awareness of the Twyg Sustainable Fashion Awards’ mission to honour the visionary designers advancing innovative, sustainable fashion in South Africa today.
Now in their sixth edition, the awards honour designers who embrace sustainable, circular and regenerative design practices rooted in care and empathy. With ten categories open for submissions and one overall winner, the awards are structured to recognise creatives at every level of their career, with the Student and Emerging Designer categories geared towards those who are just getting started.
Adding to the prestige of these awards, a lineup of distinguished industry leaders forms the judging panel for the third consecutive year. These include Esethu Cenga, CEO and founder of Rewoven; Swiss-born creative consultant, editor, and broadcaster Mimma Viglezio; and Nisha Kanabar, founder of Industrie Africa. Additionally, Omoyemi Akerele of Lagos Fashion Week and Style House Files, academic and entrepreneur Dr Sipho Mbatha, and Sharon Armstrong, fashion director at Times Media Group, will lend their expertise to the evaluation process.
By supporting environmental, social, and cultural sustainability, Twyg uses this annual event to highlight the complexities of the industry while recognising the courage and commitment required to navigate its challenges in South Africa. It also celebrates those who promote ethical practices, contribute to job creation, and prioritise culturally relevant and context-sensitive design.

The 2024 Twyg Sustainable Fashion Awards will culminate in an award ceremony at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, on 22 November 2024.
