
Scout PR & Social Media successfully supported the PR campaign for the Nando’s Hot Young Designer (HYD) talent search, one of South Africa’s most significant platforms for emerging design talent. The ‘Screen Dream’ entry campaign ran from the initial launch in May 2024 through to the selection and public announcement of the top five finalists in September 2024.
The 2024 competition challenged emerging designers to create innovative screens and room dividers for Nando’s restaurants worldwide. The campaign attracted nearly 200 submissions from emerging designers across South Africa.
Now in its fifth iteration, Nando’s HYD has been transforming South African design since 2014 and is facilitated by Clout/SA. Previous winners include celebrated designers such as Thabisa Mjo, whose work is now featured in Paris’s Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
