This spring, we’re celebrating creativity in all its forms, from the first-ever Open Studios in Fish Hoek and Clovelly, to art exhibitions, a refreshed brand identity for Vinimark at 40, and international recognition for musician Derek Eyden.

Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly | 3–5 October 2025

For the first time ever, 19 artists including our very own Lauren Shantall, are throwing open their doors and welcoming visitors into their working studios as part of the inaugural Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly on Saturday 4 October and Sunday 5 October. Entry is free.

There’s a special preview (R150 at Quicket) on Friday 3 October, from 10h00 to 16h00, with proceeds supporting Project Flamingo, which supports breast cancer surgery for those in need.

Pack a swimming costume – Fish Hoek’s Blue Flag beach is just around the corner.

Rocking the underground: Derek Eyden wins big

Derek Eyden- Blood on your lipsCape Town-based musician Derek Eyden has scored international recognition with his latest single, ‘Blood On Your Lips’. At the 10th Sacramento Underground Film & Arts Festival, the track’s music video took top honours, while another ‘Best Music Video’ award came from the Fort Smith International Film Festival in Arkansas. And the momentum continues: the video has also been officially selected for the Paris Lift Off Film Festival, taking place at the end of September as part of a global festival circuit spanning major cities worldwide.

The blistering protest anthem, delivered in high-octane rock, is a sharp critique of the times and an electrifying reminder of music’s power to disrupt.
